Goals

my goals for 2015 were:

*getting my learning done on time.
*knowing all my times tables.

I have improved on getting my learning done faster but I still need to work on it.
I have learned some more times tables but I still don't know all of them so I need to practice more.

Leadership: Merit

Merit: Kauri team event

Over the last 3 days the year 7 and 8's have been competing in  Koru Games I was in the A touch team.

Something I enjoyed was on the last day of Koru Games was I got player of the day and that was pretty cool.

Thinking back to the start of the year I improved on communicating to my team on the field.

The part of Koru Games that I will remember is scoring some epic tries.

Maths prove it.


What is a polygon?
A polygon is a 2D shape with straight sides and lines they must join.

What is vertres, face and edges of a shape. 
A vertres is the corners.Faces mean the base of the shape/the flat serface  on the shape.edges are the lines on the shape on the edge of the shape.

Names of 3D shapes
A 3D shapes is something that has more then 2 sides.

Spelling

In my writing I used some strategies to help with spelling. I used read writing backwards.That helps me to look at every word to see any of my mistakes I also used, does the word look right?, Underline words that I know are spelt wrong, electronic spell check and dictionary.

skim and scan

WALT:skim and scan.
 we do this because it helps to find information faster
I have achieved this WALT because I can find stuff faster by skimming and scanning
This is how you do it:
If I was skimming and scanning for a date I would look for numbers.If I was looking for a place or a name I would look for capital letter. The thing that helps me the most is key word.

My Discovery

Our project for My Discovery is "How to jump the perfect High Jump jump"

We have passed Unistructural because we know how to jump high!

How you jump high:

1. Run as fast as you can up to the bar.

2. If you are right footed you need to spring off your left leg and while you do that raise your right leg and right arm so that your arm will propel upwards and your leg because you have to jump over the bar.

3. Make a scissoring motion with your legs and you should be over.

4. Land on your feet!

5. Run off the mat carefully so you don't knock the bar.

Panda poem

I live in a zoo,I eat bamboo,especially in front of  you.If you don't already know who I am,I'm black and white and my name is panda koo.I love my life, it is so awesome too. I am fuzzy, fluffy and I'm especially feisty don't get to close.

I used rhyme in my poem so that it would make it interesting.
I used rhythm so there was a beat to it
I used alliteration to make it sound fun

SOLO. The solo level I think I reached was relational because I only know some of the language features that I can use in my own poem
